If clicks on products on product list pages (category pages) would be tracked, the relevant queries could be linked back to the categories to enhance the presuggestions.
  • A click on a product on a PLP creates a link between the category page (referrer) and the product id (not yet tracked)
  • The existing query tracking creates links between queries and product ids (already in place)
  • Both together link a query to the most relevant categories (adds data to the current solution)
Alternatively the product data export could be enriched with category page links so they can be linked to the products. This would save the hassle for tracking category product clicks.
